LA MÁQUINA DEL SONIDO
LA MÁQUINA DEL SONIDO, 1970 (CD, 2008 reissue, jewel case)
Seminal band from the late 60's Avándaro-Mexican Psychedelic scene. Some of his members later formed Three Souls In My Mind.
Brand new mint & sealed.
La Máquina del Sonido emerged in Mexico D.F, a group that in its beginnings recorded versions (covers) translated into Spanish of foreign melodies such as People Are Strange by The Doors, Fire by Arthur Brown, I Don'T Want To Go Back by Spirit, and In A Gadda Da Vida by Iron Butterfly, with which they managed to conquer an important place in the Mexican public's taste, in addition to achieving considerable sales, which helped their record company (CBS) to authorize them to record the first complete original Spanish-language rock album, supported by the theme In A Gadda Da Vida.
With a different style, mixing rock, blues and psychedelic music, La Máquina del Sonido enjoyed ephemeral popularity thanks to its unforgettable performances, both at the Insurgentes Ice Rink, as well as local festivals, and tours they made through the Mexican Republic. They alternated in Mexico with important foreign groups such as Canned Heat and Tower of Power, being the first to add horns to the group, before the arrival of other bands such as Peace and Love or Love Army.
Among the outstanding songs of the original album we can mention Tiempo De Blues and No Me Toques, composed by Armando Molina, which contains an interesting arrangement of brass and percussion. After their split Armando Molina became one of the organizers of the Avándaro Festival, while three of the remaining members formed Three Souls In My Mind, along with Alejandro Lora.
