Juan Carlos Portillo is a Mexican multi-instrumentalist who composes Symphonic Progressive Rock, in the vein of groups like Yes or Genesis, mixed with music from pre-Hispanic instruments in the style of Luis Pérez and Jorge Reyes, the result is a unique and very high quality rock.

MEXICAN ETNO-FUSION: A genre that emerged in Mexico during the 80's, when some progressive rock musicians began to use pre-Hispanic instruments with the intention of creating a new and unique type of music, which also rescued part of the identity of the ancient pre-Hispanic civilizations. These authors even worked on research to duplicate instruments that disappeared from the ancient cultures of Mexico, such as the Aztec or Maya, among many others. This type of music includes elements of Rock, Jazz, Electronic Music, Contemporary Classical, Ambient, Folk, etc.
